5 out of 5 stars Amazing little car. No batteries, no gas.   September 5, 2010
Nuknuk (Springfield, VA United States)
br /I have 3 kids (11, 6 and 4 years old) and they all love this car. First of all, no batteries nor gas needed. All it takes is a little motion of the steering wheel and the car starts. (If only we can make cars that run on just human power just like this. What a big difference in the world will it makes.) No learning curve as even my 4 year-old daughter can drive it immediately. In fact, it seems that the lighter the passenger, the faster the car goes. br / br /Another amazing thing is how it can squeeze in really tight spots. Our hardwood living room is a great place for them to play around. Perfect place would be a gym or any smooth surfaced roads. Stability is also superb. As long as you do not turn in very sharp curves, it will not topple over. br / br /I did the assembly in about 5 minutes. The only tool needed is a screwdriver to turn the tool wrench for the steering wheel (and comes with the car). br / br /You would think it is a toddler toy. What is surprising is it is my 11-yr-old who adore it the most.

5 out of 5 stars Great toy   September 2, 2010

My kids love this toy. I bought it when my oldest was 20 months and he started using it right away. His brother started using it early on as well. They are now 3.5 years and 2 and still use it almost every day. They fight over it a lot, I often consider buying another one. I must say that I do have a large tile/wood floor, so it is easy for them to use. Whenever we have other kids come over they want to be on plasma car as well (older kids like it too). Great toy, definitely one of my best purchases.

5 out of 5 stars One of our Best Purchases Ever!   September 2, 2010

We bought two of these plasma cars for our kids (ages 3 and 1) last Christmas and we haven't regretted it for a second! They were easy to assemble and it took no time at all for the kids to get the hang of driving them. Initially, our 3 year old would just scoot her car (quite fast) with her feet, but now she mixes that up with driving too. Our son, although only 15 months old at the time, loved to sit on it and be pushed, but in a couple months he was driving himself around too. We joke that they both zoom around the house, turning corners like truck drivers. We have hardwood floors on our entry level that they drive on. I think these cars need a flat surface to work effectively, so if there isn't a hard, open space in your house, they might need to be used outdoors. Kids who come over to play always love these cars and they've provided hours of entertainment. My husband and I have both tried them out (as well as grandma and grandpa and aunts and uncles . . .)and they're fun!

4 out of 5 stars Fun for all!   August 20, 2010

Friends of ours had Plasma Cars and my son loved them. So we bought him one for his 2nd birthday. He loves to push himself around on it. Right now he is using his feet and scooting along. He understands how to put his feet up and wiggle. I think he will have it in no time. This is also something that he will be able to use for the next few years. Our friends have an 8 year old and he loves it too. I have to admit that I even tried it out!

1 out of 5 stars poor design, almost non funtional   August 1, 2010

I'm a professional product designer with over 18 yrs experience. Though this was a gift, this is one of the the WORST TOYS I have seen in years. To the point of a scam! Perhaps it would work better indoors and destroy your floors. It did not work outside. The way it is designed to generate forward motion like a skateboarder uses side to side motion, the wheels are hard plastic and would generate very little forward motion. A push car would be better. In a period of two days the wheels were ground down. This product is so bad I'm looking for what plastics were used so that I can break it down for recycling as the raw materials are worth more than the product it's self. Not sure who were the judges who gave this an award from the Openheim Platinum Toy Award. They should consider finding a new vocation.
